1. The short version

AiQlick sets one cookie, and it exists purely to carry you through signup. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or third-party trackers, and we do not build a profile of your browsing. That is why you have not been asked to accept anything.

2. The cookie we set

aiqlick_onboarding_context — strictly necessary
Remembers what you were doing when you started signing up: whether you are registering as an employer or a job seeker, and which invitation you followed if you arrived from one. Without it, following an invitation link and then creating an account would lose the invitation. It expires after 24 hours, is restricted to this site (SameSite=Lax), and is sent only over HTTPS in production.

Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent, because the service you asked for cannot be delivered without them.

3. Things stored in your browser that are not cookies

The app keeps some information in your browser's local and session storage. This is not sent to our servers automatically the way a cookie is, and it is not used to track you — it exists so the app works and remembers your preferences:

  • Your sign-in token and last-activity timestamp, so you stay signed in and are signed out automatically after a period of inactivity.
  • Which workspace you are currently working in, and whether you are in employer or job seeker mode.
  • Interface preferences — colour theme, table and card layout choices, items per page.
  • Whether you have already seen the introduction animation on the home page.

Clearing your browser storage removes all of it and signs you out. Nothing there is shared with anyone.

4. Third parties

Two third parties can set cookies in situations you initiate:

Stripe
If you go through checkout, Stripe sets cookies on its own payment pages for fraud prevention and to complete the payment. These are governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
Google
If you choose to sign in with Google, Google sets cookies as part of its sign-in flow, under its own policies. This only happens if you use that option.

5. Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Because the only cookie we set is the one that carries signup context, blocking it will not break browsing the site — but following an invitation link into signup may not work as intended.

6. Changes

If we start using cookies beyond the one described here — analytics, for example — we will update this page and ask for your consent before setting them. Questions go to support@aiqlick.com.
